Kenyan-English midfielder Vincent Harper has rejoined Exeter City from Walsall on loan, returning to the League Two club where he previously played. The 25-year-old left-sided player completed the move on 14 August 2026, with the agreement running until 31 May 2027.
Harper, who was born in Nairobi, is a left-footed midfielder capable of operating on the left side of the pitch. He began the 2026-27 season with Walsall before switching back to Exeter, having previously left the Devon club to join Walsall on a free transfer in July 2025.
The move gives Harper a second spell with Exeter after his initial arrival from Eastleigh in July 2023. He had joined Eastleigh from Chippenham in September 2021, following an earlier move from Bristol City’s under-23 side. His return marks another change in a career that has included loan periods with Bath City, Weston-super-Mare and Gloucester during his time with Bristol City’s development side.
Harper came through Bristol City’s academy before moving into the club’s under-23 set-up in 2019. He spent time away from the development squad during the 2019-20 season, joining Gloucester, Weston-super-Mare and Bath City on loan before returning to Bristol City’s under-23 team. He then made permanent moves to Chippenham and Eastleigh before stepping up to Exeter.
The midfielder is listed at 1.78m and has a reported market value of €250,000. Exeter have secured his services after his previous spell at the club was followed by a season with Walsall, also in League Two. The two clubs therefore remain in the same division as Harper begins his second period with Exeter.
Harper’s current Exeter agreement is recorded through 31 May 2027, when the loan spell is due to end and he is scheduled to return to Walsall. The completed move brings the Kenya- and England-qualified player back to Exeter for the 2026-27 campaign.
