Video shows Donald Trump celebrating double win at New Jersey golf club

Donald Trump has added two more trophies to his golf record after winning the club and seniors’ championships at his own course in New Jersey, although the score he claimed has renewed scrutiny of his long list of reported victories.

According to The Sun, the 80-year-old United States president recorded what was described as an unusually low score of 70 at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster over the weekend. The result would place him two strokes below the course’s par of 72 and took his publicly claimed total to more than 40 wins.

Video shared on social media showed Trump receiving applause in front of the club’s scoreboard after completing his round. A caption accompanying the footage said he had been presented with two awards for his performance.

The scorecard has drawn attention because the same annual event was the subject of another White House claim last year. In 2025, the White House published a scorecard stating that Trump had shot 69 to win by a total margin of 10 strokes.

Trump was also seen visiting military personnel during his trip to New Jersey. Observers noted that he was still wearing his golf glove while greeting the troops.

One user on X responded to the video by writing: “Wearing the golf glove. How disrespectful!”

Another posted: “I suppose he wears his golf shoes and driving glove everywhere he goes…???”

Trump, a keen golfer who has frequently spoken about his ability on the course, has previously said: “I’ve played a lot, and I’ve played well. There are very few people who can beat me at golf.”

His claimed scores and record of tournament victories have nevertheless been questioned by critics and sports journalists over a number of years.

Rick Reilly, the sportswriter who wrote a book about Trump’s golfing habits, has cast doubt on the legitimacy of some of the president’s club championship wins. Reilly once said: “When it comes to cheating, he’s an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.”

The latest footage from Bedminster does not provide further details about the format of either competition or the full scorecard from the weekend. It does show Trump being applauded after the round and receiving two trophies, while the reported score of 70 forms the basis of his latest claimed double victory.
