Trabzonspor linked with Midtjylland forward Franculino

Portugal and Guinea-Bissau forward Franculino has been linked with a move from Danish club Midtjylland to Turkish side Trabzonspor.

The 22-year-old centre-forward has made four appearances in the Superliga this season, scoring once, while also recording two goals and two assists in four Conference League qualifying matches.

Franculino finished the 2025-26 campaign as the Superliga’s top scorer with 17 goals and helped Midtjylland win the Danish Cup. He joined the club from Benfica Under-23s in July 2023 on a free transfer and has since established himself as a significant attacking player in Denmark.

His current market value is listed at €22m, while his contract with Midtjylland runs until 31 December 2029. That agreement means any move to Trabzonspor would require a transfer fee, although no fee or probability has been established for the reported switch.

Franculino began his development at Benfica and also won the UEFA Youth League with the Portuguese club’s youth side in 2021-22. He has continued to feature for Midtjylland across domestic and European competition at the start of the current campaign, including Europa League qualifying.

The rumour places him on a potential route from the Danish Superliga to Turkey’s Super Lig, with Midtjylland retaining the player under a long-term contract.
