German-Burundian defender Thilo Kehrer is the subject of a reported transfer link between Monaco and Ajax, with the Dutch club considering a move for the 29-year-old centre-back.
Kehrer currently plays for Monaco in Ligue 1, while Ajax are being linked with a move that would take him to the Eredivisie. No transfer fee or agreement has been reported, and the move remains at the rumour stage.
The defender joined Monaco on 1 July 2024 and has two years remaining on his contract, which runs until 30 June 2028. That deal means Monaco are under no immediate pressure to allow him to leave, although the club could still assess any approach from Ajax during the transfer window.
Kehrer began his senior career at Schalke and later played for Paris Saint-Germain and West Ham United before moving to Monaco. He won three French league titles and two French Cups during his time with Paris Saint-Germain, and was part of the West Ham side that won the Europa Conference League in the 2022-23 season.
He also won the European Under-21 Championship with Germany in 2017. Kehrer’s current status is unchanged: he remains a Monaco player under contract through June 2028 as Ajax’s reported interest develops.
