Tawfiq Mohamed set for short absence after knee injury

Tawfiq Mohamed is set for a brief spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury during Petrojet SC’s Egyptian Premier League encounter with Pharco FC, according to a source familiar with the situation.

The injury occurred during Petrojet’s most recent league fixture, prompting concern among the club’s staff and supporters regarding the player’s fitness and potential absence from upcoming matches.

In comments reported by Kora Plus, the source confirmed that the issue has been diagnosed as a knee contusion. While such injuries can vary in severity, the initial assessment has indicated that this particular case is not serious.

The source explained, in statements to “Kora Plus”, that the player suffered a knee contusion during his team’s last league match.

Medical staff have since outlined a recovery period, with Tawfiq Mohamed expected to be unavailable for approximately 20 days. This timeframe suggests that the midfielder will miss a limited number of fixtures but is unlikely to face any long-term complications.

He added that Tawfiq Mohammed will be out of action for up to 20 days, stressing that the injury is not serious and will not significantly affect his participation after recovery.

The update offers reassurance for Petrojet, who will be looking to maintain stability in their squad as the season progresses. The relatively short recovery period means the player could return to action before the campaign reaches its decisive stages.

Beyond immediate fitness concerns, attention is also turning towards Tawfiq Mohamed’s future. The player is currently awaiting clarity regarding his position at the club ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, a period that could prove significant in shaping his next career move.

Interest in the player has already been established, with several leading Egyptian clubs previously linked with a potential transfer. During the last transfer window, Al Ahly SC, Zamalek SC, and Pyramids FC were all reported to be competing for his signature.

Despite that interest, a move did not materialise at the time, leaving the player to continue his development with Petrojet. However, with a new transfer window approaching, speculation is expected to resume, particularly if the player returns to full fitness quickly.

For now, the focus remains on recovery, with both player and club aiming for a smooth rehabilitation process. Petrojet will be monitoring his progress closely, balancing caution with the desire to reintegrate him into the squad as soon as he is ready.

The coming weeks will therefore be important not only for his return to action but also for determining how his situation evolves ahead of what could be a pivotal summer in his career.
