South Africa have selected a full-strength line-up to face familiar rivals Tanzania in their opening Group B match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations at Stade Moulay Rachid in Casablanca.
The Banyana Banyana begin their group campaign in Morocco against a Tanzanian side they know well, with both nations making their first appearance in this edition of the tournament in the same section.
As kick-off approaches in Casablanca, the two coaches have confirmed their starting XIs for this eagerly awaited contest.
South Africa stick with established core
South Africa, the reigning continental power in the women’s game, will be led by goalkeeper Andile Dlamini, who starts in goal.
The defensive unit in front of her features Lebogang Ramalepe, Bongeka Gamede, Noko Matlou Dhlamini (listed as Dhlamini in the line-up) and captain Noko Mbane, providing experience and stability at the back.
In midfield, Kholosa Biyana Moodaly (Moodaly in the line-up) is joined by Refiloe Jane and Nomvula Cesane, forming a trio expected to control possession and set the tempo for the Banyana Banyana.

N. Abbas starts in goal for Tanzania, with a back line that includes A. Katunzi, Donisia Minja, O. Clement and Clara Luvanga Mnunka, who will be tasked with containing South Africa’s potent forward line.
In midfield, Diana, A. Rashid and J. Singano are named, offering industry and balance in the centre of the pitch as Tanzania aim to disrupt South Africa’s rhythm and launch quick transitions.
The attacking responsibilities fall to E. Maseke, Enekia and Violeth, who will look to exploit any space left by the South African defence and provide a cutting edge in the final third.
