Sorba Thomas, the Wales and Sierra Leone international currently at Stoke City, is the subject of transfer interest from Serie A club Genoa as the Italian side explore wide attacking options this summer.
The 27-year-old left winger, who joined Stoke from Huddersfield Town on 1 July 2025, is under contract at the Championship club until 30 June 2028, meaning any deal would require Genoa to negotiate a substantial fee. Thomas is currently valued at around €14m, a figure that reflects his growing importance at Stoke and his established record in the English second tier.
Thomas has made 176 Championship appearances, contributing 17 goals and 42 assists, underlining the consistent end product that has drawn Genoa’s attention. The right-footed wide player also has experience in Ligue 1 from a loan spell at Nantes, where he featured 25 times and provided three assists, offering evidence that he can adapt outside English football.
Born in London in January 1999 and standing at 1.85m, Thomas has developed his game across the English pyramid, but his move to Stoke represented a step up in responsibility after previous spells at Huddersfield and a loan at Blackburn Rovers. His performances since that switch have reinforced Stoke’s view of him as a key attacking asset.
With two years remaining on his deal and no release clause publicly known, Stoke are in a strong position over Thomas’s future, and any approach from Genoa is likely to test their resolve rather than trigger an imminent departure.
