A major transfer move is nearing completion in Italy as Senegalese teenager Mor Kaire Ndao prepares to join Serie A side Genoa CFC, despite interest from several of the country’s top clubs.
The 17-year-old midfielder, who has attracted attention from Bologna, Napoli, Udinese and AC Milan, is now expected to complete a switch to Genoa.
Negotiations are reported to be at an advanced stage between the player’s representatives and the Rossoblù.
The deal would mark a significant step forward for the young Senegalese talent, who has risen rapidly through the Italian lower divisions while developing at Casatese Merate.
A source close to the situation, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the direction of the transfer.
“He [Mor Kaïré Ndao] is expected to join Genoa. There’s not much left to finalize the contract, although other clubs are also interested in him.”
While interest from established Serie A sides had placed the midfielder in a competitive transfer race, Genoa now appear to have moved ahead in securing his signature, underlining their focus on emerging young talent.
Ndao’s rise has been built on a steady progression through Casatese Merate’s youth system, where he has impressed with his technical ability and athletic strength.
His performances this season in Serie D have strengthened his reputation as one of the more promising Senegalese prospects emerging in European football.
During the 2025/26 campaign in Italy’s Serie D, the teenager made 20 appearances for Casatese Merate, scoring one goal and registering two assists.
While modest on paper, his influence on matches and overall development have drawn increasing attention from scouts across Italy.
Despite his age, Ndao has already established himself within the club’s performance group since August 2025, taking on responsibilities beyond his years in a physically demanding league environment.
Coaches have reportedly been impressed by his composure in possession and his ability to adapt quickly to senior football.
His estimated market value currently stands at around €50,000 on Transfermarkt, though that figure is expected to rise significantly if he secures a move to Genoa and breaks into higher-level competition.
For Ndao, a move to Genoa would represent both a reward for his progress and a major test of his readiness for top-flight European football.
While competition for places will be intense, the club’s willingness to pursue his signature suggests they see long-term potential in the Senegalese midfielder.
With final details still being completed, the coming days are expected to determine whether the teenager officially joins Genoa and begins the next stage of his career in Serie A.
