Algerian-Belgian right-back Rafik Belghali is the subject of reported interest from Sassuolo, with the 24-year-old currently at Hellas Verona.
Belghali joined Verona from KV Mechelen on 19 August 2025 in a €2m transfer and remains under contract until 30 June 2029. His current market value is listed at €12m.
The defender has made four appearances for Algeria at the 2026 World Cup, starting all four matches and scoring once. He has played 26 Serie A games in his career, scoring twice, and has also featured in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League and Challenger Pro League.
Sassuolo, who are listed as a Serie A club, are linked with a move for Belghali while Verona are listed in Serie B. No transfer fee or agreement has been reported, and the rumour does not indicate that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.
Belghali began his senior career with Lommel SK before moving to Mechelen in 2023. He made 36 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League for Mechelen, scoring twice, before switching to Italy.
The right-back is currently valued at €12m and has three years remaining on his Verona contract, leaving the Italian club with the player tied down beyond the current transfer window.
