Lusitania FC Lourosa have signed Senegalese-Spanish winger Saliou Mandiang on a free transfer from Las Palmas Atletico, tying him to the Portuguese club until June 2029.
The 23-year-old right-sided attacker leaves Spain’s Segunda Federacion to step into Liga Portugal 2, as Lourosa continue to build their squad ahead of the new campaign. Mandiang arrives with a market value of €200,000 and moves as a free agent after the end of his spell with Las Palmas’ reserve side.
Born in Arrecife and eligible for both Senegal and Spain, Mandiang has developed entirely within the Las Palmas system, progressing from the under-19s to Las Palmas Atletico in 2022. He later gained senior experience on loan at Barakaldo CF before returning to Gran Canaria this summer.
Last season he featured regularly in Spain’s third tier, making 36 league appearances in Primera Federacion Group I, scoring three goals and providing one assist. He also played in the promotion play-offs and featured in the Copa del Rey, amassing more than 2,100 competitive minutes across all competitions.
Standing at 1.83m and primarily operating as a right winger, Mandiang offers Lourosa a wide option with experience of Spanish developmental and senior football. His long-term contract to 2029 underlines Lourosa’s commitment to integrating him into their plans in Liga Portugal 2.
The deal completes Mandiang’s move from Las Palmas Atletico to Lusitania Lourosa as a permanent free transfer.
