Ismail Saibari scored his first goal for Bayern Munich as the German champions crushed Union Berlin 7-0 to return temporarily to the top of the Bundesliga on Friday.
The Morocco international came off the bench in the second half and needed only seven minutes to make his mark, scoring Bayern’s fifth goal in a dominant display at the Allianz Arena.
The match, played in front of nearly 70,000 supporters, was Bayern’s fourth Bundesliga fixture of the 2026-27 campaign. The result gave Vincent Kompany’s side 10 points and its biggest victory of the season.
Bayern have continued to produce emphatic attacking performances this season. Of their six matches across competitions so far, four have ended with the Bavarian side scoring at least four goals.
Their recent results include a 7-0 victory over Union Berlin, a 5-0 win against Bodø/Glimt, a 5-1 victory over Stuttgart and a 4-1 result against Osnabrück.
Saibari entered the match in the 63rd minute, replacing Colombian forward Luis Diaz. Seven minutes later, he added his name to the scoresheet.
The Moroccan received a pass from Alphonso Davies in the 70th minute before turning away from three defenders and finishing with his left foot to complete his first goal for Bayern.
The goal added to an already productive start to Saibari’s Bundesliga campaign. He has now recorded four goal contributions in four league appearances, scoring once and providing three assists.
That means the midfielder has contributed directly to a goal every 44 minutes in the Bundesliga so far.
Saibari’s goal also placed him among a select group of Arab players to have scored for Bayern Munich. According to the information provided, only three Arab players have found the net for the German club, with all of them being Moroccan: Saibari, Mehdi Benatia and Noussair Mazraoui.
His arrival in Bavaria followed an impressive World Cup campaign with Morocco. Saibari scored three goals during the 2026 tournament and helped the Atlas Lions reach the quarter-finals before they were eliminated by France in a 2-0 defeat.
Bayern moved quickly to secure his services after the World Cup, completing a €50m deal with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.
The move has so far been followed by an immediate impact, with Saibari already contributing goals and assists during his first Bundesliga matches and now scoring his first goal for the club.
His latest performance came as Bayern produced another commanding attacking display, extending their strong start to the season while temporarily reclaiming first place in the German top flight.
