RB Leipzig have confirmed the return of highly rated winger Yann Diomande to first-team training, with the club making no mention of mounting interest from Real Madrid in the Ivory Coast international.
The Bundesliga side announced on Monday that the 19-year-old had reported back as planned for pre-season, following his post-tournament break after representing Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup.
Diomande, who turned heads with a series of standout performances at the tournament, has attracted renewed attention from Real Madrid, whose scouts were impressed by his impact on the global stage. His displays have also drawn wider interest from several major European clubs.
In a post across their official social media channels, Leipzig stated that Diomande had joined up with his team-mates at the club’s training ground and undergone initial medical tests. The club shared an image of the player smiling alongside other squad members, captioned: “Welcome back, boys!”, but did not reference any transfer speculation or the possibility of the winger leaving.
Rapid rise after Bundesliga move
Diomande joined RB Leipzig last summer in a €20m move from Spanish side Leganes, after just one season in La Liga. Despite the step up in level, he adapted quickly to German football and delivered eye-catching performances in the Bundesliga.
That form carried into the World Cup, where his pace, direct running and attacking influence for Ivory Coast drew praise from observers and analysts. His contribution at the tournament was widely described as exceptional and significantly raised his profile across Europe.

While Real Madrid are understood to be closely monitoring Diomande’s situation and weighing up a move during the current summer transfer window, Leipzig’s communication on Monday offered no hint that a departure is under consideration.
