RB Leipzig consider Chemsdine Talbi as Yan Diomande replacement

RB Leipzig are assessing a move for Sunderland forward Chemsdine Talbi as they prepare for the expected departure of Yan Diomande to Real Madrid.

The German club are already examining attacking options ahead of the new season, with Diomande’s transfer to the Spanish giants moving closer. Leipzig’s sporting management want to plan for the Ivory Coast winger’s exit and recruit a player capable of making an immediate contribution to their forward line.

According to Foot Mercato, Talbi is among the profiles being considered by RB Leipzig. The 21-year-old Morocco international is viewed as a player whose pace, direct running and versatility could match the requirements of the Bundesliga side.

Talbi can operate in several attacking positions, a quality that has increased his appeal as Leipzig consider how best to strengthen their squad. His ability to take on defenders and provide a threat in the final third is also understood to fit the characteristics the club are seeking.

The forward currently plays for Sunderland, having scored four goals in 30 appearances during the most recent campaign. He has represented Morocco 10 times and has continued his development in England, where his performances have attracted interest from several European clubs.

However, there has been no contact between Sunderland and RB Leipzig at this stage. Talbi remains under contract with the English club until 30 June 2030, leaving Sunderland in a strong position should formal interest develop.

His estimated market value is €25m, according to Transfermarkt. That figure provides an indication of the potential scale of any deal, although no negotiations have begun and there is currently no confirmed offer from Leipzig.

Talbi earns an annual salary of €2,412,490, equivalent to 1,568,118,500 FCFA.

The coming weeks will determine whether RB Leipzig’s interest develops into a formal approach for the Morocco international. For now, Talbi is one of several attacking options being studied as the Bundesliga club prepares for life after Diomande.

Diomande’s possible move to Real Madrid is the reason Leipzig have begun considering alternatives before the season resumes. The club are seeking to anticipate that change rather than wait until the transfer is completed, with Talbi emerging as one of the names that has attracted their attention.
