Rangers have completed the signing of Algeria international winger Badredine Bouanani from Stuttgart on loan for the 2026-27 season.
The 21-year-old joined the Scottish club on September 3 and will remain at Rangers until June 30, 2027, when his loan spell is scheduled to end.
Bouanani, who was born in Lille and also holds French nationality, is primarily a right winger and is known for his preference for his left foot. Standing at 1.77 metres, he gives Rangers another attacking option as they strengthen their squad for the season.
The move takes Bouanani to Scotland after spells in France and Germany. He joined Stuttgart from Nice on a permanent deal on August 31, 2025, with the transfer reported to be worth €15 million.
His time at Nice followed a spell with Lille, where he progressed through the club’s youth system before moving to Nice B on a free transfer in July 2022. He had previously represented Lille at under-17 and under-19 level.
Bouanani also spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan at FC Lorient. The temporary move reportedly involved a €1 million loan fee before he returned to Nice at the end of the season.
He eventually made the switch to Stuttgart, where he was contracted until June 30, 2027.
The winger now joins Rangers after recording no Bundesliga or DFB-Pokal appearances for Stuttgart during the opening stage of the current campaign.
His temporary move to Glasgow provides an opportunity for regular football and a new challenge after limited involvement in Germany.
Bouanani arrives at Rangers with a reported market value of €10 million and will spend the remainder of the 2026-27 campaign with the Scottish club.
Rangers will hope the Algeria international can provide creativity and attacking quality from the wide areas as he begins his first experience of Scottish football.
