Raja Casablanca members demand financial audit amid growing internal pressure

Raja Club Athletic are facing fresh internal pressure after a group of members called for a comprehensive audit of the Moroccan club’s finances.

According to Moroccan daily Al-Sabah on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the members want Raja’s financial records examined following the activation of the club’s sports company.

The proposed audit would seek to establish how the club’s revenues and expenses were managed during the relevant period.

The members are expected to formally raise the matter at the association’s next general assembly and ask the executive office to initiate the financial review.

Members seek meeting with Raja president

The group pushing for the audit is also expected to contact the management office of Raja’s sports company to formally communicate its request.

The same members had previously sought a meeting with Raja president Idriss Akoujim, although a date for the meeting has yet to be confirmed.

The proposed financial audit is among the issues they want to raise with the club’s leadership.

They are also seeking clarification over several recent developments at Raja, including a meeting involving Jawad Al-Zayyat, the club’s director, and representatives of supporters and fan groups at the end of last week.

Raja officials also met members of the media on Tuesday as questions surrounding the club’s administration continued to emerge.

Financial questions add to uncertainty

The calls for an audit come during a period of significant change at the Casablanca club.

Raja have made adjustments to their sporting administration and technical staff while also overseeing considerable movement in the playing squad, with several new players arriving and others departing.

Some of those decisions have reportedly failed to convince sections of the club’s membership and fan base.

The demand for greater financial transparency has therefore added another layer of pressure as Raja seek to establish stability at the start of the new season.

The proposed audit could provide members with greater clarity over the club’s financial management, while the upcoming general assembly is expected to become an important platform for addressing the concerns surrounding Raja’s administration.
