Racing Santander director of international relations Omar Nael has confirmed details of the loan agreement that will see highly rated Al Ahly midfielder Bilal Attia continue his development in Spain during the upcoming season.
Speaking to ON Sport FM, Nael revealed that the 18-year-old has already arrived in Spain, where he will continue his rehabilitation programme under the supervision of both Racing Santander and Al Ahly medical staff.
“Egypt is full of talent. The only problem is talent management, and we are interested in any talent that appears anywhere in the world,” Nael said.
The Spanish club confirmed that Bilal Attia had undergone a full medical assessment before the agreement was finalised. Further evaluations are expected before pre-season preparations begin on July 10.
Nael added that the deal is structured as a one-year loan with an option to extend for an additional season depending on the player’s progress and recovery.
The teenager is regarded as one of the brightest prospects from Al Ahly’s academy and had previously attracted attention during trials with German clubs Stuttgart and Hannover before sealing his move to Spain.
