Paris Saint-Germain are continuing their rapid expansion in North Africa with the launch of a new academy in Fez, marking the club’s third youth development site in the country.
The new facility, based at the Euromed University campus, is set to officially open on Sunday, further strengthening PSG’s footprint in Moroccan football.
Opening day to spotlight young talent
The launch event will feature a series of activities designed to introduce young players to the academy’s structure and philosophy. These include discovery sessions, training drills led by PSG-certified coaches, exhibition matches, and talent identification exercises.
Participation will be organised by age groups, with strict scheduling in place. Organisers have confirmed that registration is mandatory, with limited spaces available per session; highlighting the strong demand expected for the programme.
Strategic expansion across Morocco
The Fez academy is the latest step in PSG’s growing investment in Morocco. The club first entered the market in September 2024 with a flagship academy in Casablanca, located in the Tamaris area.
That facility boasts a full-size pitch alongside smaller-sided courts (5-a-side, 7-a-side, and 9-a-side), as well as additional amenities such as padel courts and relaxation zones. It caters to a wide age range, welcoming boys and girls from four to 18 years old.
In August 2025, PSG expanded further into Rabat with two additional sites. One, situated in the Agdal district’s Belle Vue area, features a comprehensive sports complex including a football pitch, gym, athletics track, and even a heated indoor swimming pool. The second is located within the expansive Hassan II Park and focuses on younger age groups between four and 12.
Hakimi influence and local connection
Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, who joined PSG in 2021, played a key role in strengthening the club’s ties to the country. His presence was particularly significant during the Casablanca launch, symbolising PSG’s commitment to engaging with local fans and nurturing homegrown talent.
Global vision, local impact
The Moroccan projects are part of a wider global strategy. Founded in 2005, the PSG Academy network now operates in 21 countries, with more than 210 training centres and over 50,000 young players enrolled worldwide.
All academies follow a unified training methodology developed in Paris, with coaches receiving specialised instruction to ensure consistency across every location.
Morocco as a key hub
With three active sites and more planned, PSG is positioning Morocco as a central hub in its international youth development network.
The addition of Fez not only broadens access to elite training for young players but also reinforces the country’s growing importance in global football development pathways.
