Premier League star Alex Iwobi targeted in armed burglary at UK home

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has reportedly been left traumatised after a violent burglary at his home in the United Kingdom, during which intruders allegedly held him at knifepoint and stole valuables worth around £500,000.

Reports indicate that the attackers forced their way into the property of the Fulham FC midfielder before coercing him into handing over several high-value possessions. Items taken are said to include luxury watches, jewellery, electronic devices and a large quantity of cash.

Police in the UK have launched an investigation and are working to identify and apprehend those responsible. No arrests have been confirmed so far.

The incident has prompted renewed concerns over the safety of professional footballers, particularly those playing at the highest levels. Due to their public profiles and financial status, many players have increasingly become targets for organised burglaries.

Despite the ordeal, Iwobi has continued to receive recognition for his contributions away from the pitch. The midfielder was recently named in the Football Black List 2025, acknowledging his work in the community through his initiative, Project 17. The programme focuses on youth development and social empowerment, underlining his efforts to make a positive impact beyond football.

The burglary comes shortly after Iwobi delivered a standout performance for Fulham in their Premier League victory over Burnley FC. His display in that match further highlighted his importance to the team during the current season.

The case remains under active investigation, and authorities are appealing for information that could assist in bringing those responsible to justice.
