Juventus are exploring a move for Germany-Nigeria goalkeeper Noah Atubolu, who currently plays for Freiburg, as the Serie A club assess long-term options in goal ahead of next season.
Atubolu, 24, has a contract with the Bundesliga side until 30 June 2027, a situation that would likely require Juventus to negotiate a substantial fee if they decide to formalise their interest. The Freiburg academy graduate is valued at around €25 million, underlining the level of investment any deal would demand from the Italian club.
Born in Freiburg im Breisgau and standing at 1.90m, Atubolu has progressed through every level of the Freiburg system, moving from the youth ranks into the first team in 2021. He has since established himself as Freiburg’s No.1, wearing the number 1 shirt and featuring regularly in the Bundesliga.
His rise has been marked by team and individual recognition. Atubolu was part of the Freiburg side that reached the German Cup final in 2021–22 and earned the Fritz Walter Bronze medal in 2023, an award given to standout young players in German football.
Juventus’ interest comes at a time when top European clubs are paying increasing attention to goalkeepers with top-flight and European experience at a relatively young age. Freiburg, who promoted Atubolu from their second team in 2021, are under no immediate pressure to sell given the length of his current deal, putting them in a strong position as any talks develop.
