Uganda midfielder Nicholas Kasozi has joined Kitara on a free transfer from Tanzanian side Kagera Sugar. The 31-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a contract with the Uganda Premier League club running until 30 June 2028.
Kasozi returns to Ugandan domestic football after a spell in Tanzania, where he moved in July 2023 from Kampala giants KCCA FC. His arrival strengthens Kitara’s midfield options with an experienced holding player who has already featured in continental competition.
Primarily deployed as a defensive midfielder, Kasozi has previous experience in the CAF Confederation Cup, where he has made two appearances, accumulating just over 100 minutes of action. That exposure to African club competition adds further depth to Kitara as they build for upcoming campaigns.
Before switching to Kagera Sugar, Kasozi spent five years with KCCA FC, having joined them from SC Villa Jogoo in 2018. His move to KCCA followed a rise through the Ugandan club game after linking up with SC Villa in 2017.
Born on 11 January 1995, Kasozi joins Kitara at 31, with his new deal tying him to the club for the next two seasons. The transfer is a permanent move completed on a free transfer.
