Caldiero have signed Italy-Nigeria centre-back Nicholas Eyeh from Modena U19 on a free transfer. The 18-year-old defender has agreed a deal with the Serie D – B side running until 30 June 2027.
Eyeh, who plays primarily at centre-back and is right-footed, makes the move after a season in Modena’s youth set-up, having joined them from Verona U18 in July 2025. His switch marks his first step into senior club football after progressing consistently through age-group sides in northern Italy.
Born on 3 December 2007, Eyeh holds both Italian and Nigerian nationality and has been developed entirely within the Italian system. Before his stint at Modena U19, he came through the ranks at Hellas Verona, advancing from the club’s youth team into their Under-17s and then on to Verona U18.
At youth level, Eyeh built his reputation with regular game time in the Under 17 – B division, where he accumulated 38 appearances and scored three goals, adding a further five outings in Under 18 competition. His record of over 2,700 minutes at Under-17 level underlines the experience he has already gained despite his age.
Eyeh now links up with Caldiero as they prepare for the new Serie D – B campaign, with his contract confirming his stay at the club through the 2026-27 season.
