German-Nigerian defender Moritz Jenz is being linked with a move from Wolfsburg to Monza, with the Italian club’s interest pointing towards a potential switch to Serie A.
The 27-year-old centre-back remains under contract with Wolfsburg until 30 June 2027, meaning any move would require an agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer.
Jenz has not featured in Wolfsburg’s opening three possible league matches of the 2026-27 season or in the German Cup. Wolfsburg are competing in the 2. Bundesliga this season, while Monza are preparing for a campaign in Italy’s top flight.
The defender joined Wolfsburg permanently from French club Lorient in July 2023 for a reported €8m. He spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Mainz before returning to Wolfsburg at the end of that campaign.
Jenz began his senior career after leaving Fulham and later played for Lausanne-Sport, Celtic and Schalke 04. During his spell at Celtic, he won the Scottish league title and Scottish League Cup in 2022-23.
A transfer to Monza has not been completed, but the clubs are now connected by a rumour that could see Jenz leave Germany before the transfer window closes. His current Wolfsburg contract remains in place as discussions over a possible move develop.
