Tunisian-French defender Montassar Talbi is being linked with a move from FC Lorient to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq.
Talbi, 28, has started both of Lorient’s Ligue 1 matches this season, completing all 180 minutes without scoring or assisting. He has also appeared in all three of Tunisia’s World Cup 2026 matches, playing every minute.
The centre-back joined Lorient from Rubin Kazan in July 2022 in a transfer worth €1.5m. He helped the French club win the second-tier title in the 2024-25 season before returning to Ligue 1.
Talbi’s current market value is listed at €8m, while his contract with Lorient runs until 30 June 2027. The length of that deal means any move to Al-Ettifaq would involve a transfer rather than a free transfer.
The defender began his senior career with Esperance and also played in Turkey and Italy before moving to Russia. He has remained a regular starter for Lorient at the beginning of the current campaign, making the reported link with Al-Ettifaq a potential change to his role at the club.
No transfer has been confirmed, and Talbi remains a Lorient player under contract through the end of June 2027.
