Memphis Depay: Marseille eye move for Netherlands forward from Corinthians

Memphis Depay, the Netherlands international forward currently at Corinthians, is being linked with a move to Ligue 1 side Marseille as the Brazilian club weigh up his future ahead of the final year of his contract.

The 32-year-old, who also has Ghanaian nationality, is under contract with Corinthians until 31 July 2026 and is valued at around €7m, a figure that is likely to frame any negotiations between the clubs. Depay only joined the Sao Paulo side in September 2024 after leaving Atletico Madrid and has worn the number 10 shirt during a period in which Corinthians have enjoyed domestic cup success.

His current league campaign has been relatively low key, with limited starts and one goal so far in the 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A, but he remains a high-profile name on the European market after previous spells with Barcelona, Atletico, Lyon, Manchester United and PSV Eindhoven. He was part of Barcelona’s 2022–23 Spanish title-winning squad and has a long record of scoring in European competition.

Depay featured for the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup, making three appearances and registering one assist, underlining his continued involvement at international level. That profile is understood to appeal to Marseille as they look for attacking reinforcements with proven experience in major European leagues and tournaments.

Corinthians must now decide whether to cash in on the forward this year or risk losing him closer to the end of his deal, with Marseille monitoring the situation as the French club assess the feasibility of a move within his current contractual terms.
