Manchester United have told Tottenham that Benjamin Sesko is not available for negotiation, with approaches from Bayern Munich and Barcelona also rejected as the club maintain their stance on the Slovenia forward.
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham were the latest club to make an enquiry about Sesko, but Manchester United responded immediately by making clear that they would not discuss a possible sale. The same position has been taken towards Bayern Munich and Barcelona, who have also shown interest in the 23-year-old.
Manchester United are not expected to consider offers for Sesko in the foreseeable future. The club’s decision means the forward remains firmly beyond the reach of the three sides who have explored the possibility of signing him.
Sesko joined Manchester United from RB Leipzig last summer in a deal worth €76.5m. The move brought the Slovenian to England, where he scored 12 goals in 32 appearances during his debut season with the Manchester club.
His first campaign at Manchester United has therefore attracted attention from elsewhere, but that interest has not altered the club’s view of his future. Tottenham’s request was rejected without negotiations beginning, while Bayern Munich and Barcelona have likewise been unable to persuade United to consider a transfer.
The response from Manchester United represents a clear indication that Sesko is part of the club’s plans. Rather than assess proposals from interested clubs, the Red Devils have chosen not to enter discussions at all.
Sesko’s 12 goals in 32 matches came during his first season in English football after his move from RB Leipzig. His performances have prompted enquiries from Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Barcelona, but all three clubs have so far received the same answer.
For now, Manchester United’s position leaves no room for talks over a move. The club have declined Tottenham’s approach and rejected the interest of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, with no offers for Sesko expected to be considered in the near future.
