Malaga CF have identified Getafe midfielder Yvan Neyou as a potential signing as they prepare for their return to Spain’s top division.
The Andalusian club are looking to strengthen their squad following promotion and have turned their attention to the Cameroon international in an attempt to add greater depth to midfield.
Neyou, 29, is currently facing an uncertain situation at Getafe, where his opportunities have become increasingly limited. According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Malaga’s directors are keen to move quickly to complete a deal for the player during the summer transfer window.
The midfielder joined the Madrid-based club last summer, but he is no longer regarded as one of the guaranteed members of the squad. As a result, Getafe are reportedly open to allowing Neyou to leave on loan before the transfer window closes.
That possibility could offer Malaga the chance to bring in an experienced international as they prepare for the demands of top-flight football. The club’s interest comes at a time when Neyou’s position at Getafe appears less secure than it was when he arrived.
Despite his reduced involvement, Neyou still wants to establish himself and earn a place in the team selected by Getafe. However, exclusive information from Africafoot suggests that his career could continue elsewhere.
Malaga are not the only club monitoring the midfielder. Neyou has also attracted interest from several teams in Italy and France, giving Getafe a number of potential options should they decide to sanction a temporary departure.
The player remains under contract with Getafe until 2028. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market value at €2m.
