Lois Openda, the Belgium–Morocco centre-forward currently at Juventus, is the subject of interest from Lyon as the Ligue 1 club explore options to strengthen their attack. The 26-year-old, who only joined Juventus on a permanent deal this summer, is being monitored as Lyon assess whether a deal is possible for a player under a long-term contract in Turin.
Openda completed a return to Juventus from RB Leipzig on 1 July 2026, with the Italian side paying a reported €42.75 million after an initial loan spell last season that included a €3.25 million fee. His market value is currently estimated at €25 million, a figure that is likely to form a reference point in any discussions between the clubs.
The forward first moved into one of Europe’s major leagues when he left Club Brugge for Lens in 2022, before earning a transfer to Leipzig the following summer. During his time in Germany he won the 2023–24 German Super Cup, adding to a Belgian league title with Club Brugge in 2019–20.
Born in Liege and representing both Belgian and Moroccan heritage, Openda has built a reputation as a central striker capable of leading the line in top European competitions, which has drawn Lyon’s attention as they look to compete higher up the Ligue 1 table.
Any move would require Juventus to reconsider their plans for a player tied to the club until 30 June 2030, leaving Lyon needing either a substantial fee or a creative deal structure if they are to persuade the Italian side to part with him.
