Liverpool are set to sign Paris Saint-Germain and France attacking midfielder Bradley Barcola in a deal worth €145m, according to reports from The Athletic.
The proposed transfer is understood to include a guaranteed fee of €125m, with a further €20m available in bonuses. Barcola is expected to complete a medical in the near future before signing a long-term contract with the Merseyside club.
The 23-year-old winger has spent the latest period of his career at Paris Saint-Germain, where he has established himself as an important attacking player. During his time with the French club, Barcola has made 152 appearances, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists.
His reported move would take him from Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool as the club continue preparations for their forthcoming fixture against Nottingham Forest. The match will be played at Anfield on Saturday, 29 August.
Barcola’s record in Paris includes a significant contribution in front of goal as well as a considerable number of assists. Across his 152 matches, his 39 goals and 37 final passes underline the attacking output Liverpool would be acquiring if the transfer is completed.
The financial structure of the proposed deal places the total value at €145m. Of that amount, €125m would be paid as a fixed transfer fee, while the remaining €20m would depend on bonuses included in the agreement.
Although the transfer is being reported by The Athletic, the next formal steps are Barcola’s medical and the signing of his long-term contract. Until those stages are completed, the move remains subject to the final procedures involved in the deal.
Barcola is also a France international, adding international experience to his profile as he prepares for a possible move to the Premier League. His current club, Paris Saint-Germain, would lose a player who has recorded 76 direct goal contributions in 152 appearances.
Liverpool’s next fixture comes against Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday, 29 August. That game is the immediate focus for the club, while the reported Barcola transfer moves towards completion.
