Leeds United have strengthened their attacking options by signing French winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya from Eintracht Frankfurt on loan for the current season.
The 21-year-old will move from the Bundesliga to the Premier League and spend the campaign with Leeds, with the agreement including an option for the English club to make the transfer permanent.
Leeds announced the deal through their official club communications, confirming the arrival of the wide player as they reinforce their forward line.
Bahoya has been part of the Eintracht Frankfurt squad since January 2024. During his time with the German club, he has made 78 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists.
His record includes 15 direct contributions to goals across those 78 matches, underlining the attacking output Leeds will hope he can bring during his loan spell. The Frenchman’s ability to operate from the wing gives the club another option in the final third.
The agreement between Leeds and Eintracht Frankfurt allows for the possibility of a permanent transfer at the end of the season. The terms do not make that move automatic, but provide Leeds with the opportunity to retain Bahoya beyond the current campaign if they choose to exercise the clause.
According to Transfermarkt, Bahoya’s current market value is estimated at 25 million euros.
His move means the player will continue his career in England after playing in Germany since joining Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2024. For the current season, however, his focus will be on adapting to the Premier League and contributing to Leeds’ attack as a member of the club’s first-team squad.
The transfer gives Leeds a young attacking player with substantial recent experience at Eintracht Frankfurt, while the loan structure leaves the club with a decision to make at the end of the campaign.
