Kingsley Ehizibue, the Dutch-Nigerian right-back, has joined Genoa on a free transfer after leaving Udinese.
The 31-year-old completed the move on 3 September 2026 and becomes a new defensive option for the Serie A club. Ehizibue had been without a club since departing Udinese on 1 July, with Genoa moving to sign him without a fee.
Ehizibue spent the previous four seasons with Udinese, making 115 Serie A appearances and scoring four goals. He joined the Italian side from German club 1. FC Koln in August 2022 in a €1.5m transfer.
Before moving to the Bundesliga, Ehizibue played for PEC Zwolle in the Netherlands. He made 122 Eredivisie appearances for the club, contributing eight goals and 15 assists, and also progressed through its youth system after joining PEC Zwolle Under-17s in 2012.
His spell with Koln lasted three seasons, during which he featured 69 times in the Bundesliga and scored once. Across his senior career, the right-footed defender has therefore played in the top flights of the Netherlands, Germany and Italy.
Born in Munich, Ehizibue stands 1.89m tall and operates primarily at right-back. His arrival gives Genoa a player with extensive experience of Serie A, following his league appearances for Udinese.
Ehizibue’s career has included a return to Italy after a period in Germany, with his move to Genoa marking his third senior club in the country. He previously joined Udinese after Koln paid €2m for him from PEC Zwolle in July 2019.
The defender’s market value is listed at €2m, while his highest recorded value has been €3m. His career record also includes appearances in the Coppa Italia, DFB-Pokal, Europa League qualifying and Conference League qualifying.
Genoa have now completed the signing of Ehizibue from free agency, with the transfer registered on 3 September 2026.
