Kaizer Chiefs have completed their fifth signing of the transfer window after confirming the arrival of 23-year-old winger Langelihle Phili from Stellenbosch FC.
The Soweto club announced the deal on Monday afternoon, ending weeks of speculation connecting Phili with a move to Naturena. The wide player becomes the latest addition to head coach Fernando Da Cruz’s squad as Chiefs continue to reshape their team ahead of the new campaign.
“Kaizer Chiefs is delighted to announce the signing of exciting and highly sought-after young winger Langelihle Phili from Stellenbosch FC,” the club posted on its official social media channels.
“We warmly welcome Langelihle to the Gold & Black family and look forward to a positive and successful career with Amakhosi.”
Phili’s signing completes a busy period of recruitment for Kaizer Chiefs, who have brought in five new players during the current transfer window.
The club began its business by securing the services of experienced centre-back Thabo Moloisane on a free transfer. His contract with Stellenbosch FC had expired, allowing Chiefs to sign the defender without a transfer fee.
Moloisane is expected to provide leadership and greater composure in defence while helping to bring stability to the backline.
Kaizer Chiefs then added goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner before announcing the signing of midfielder Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko.
Khanyisa Mayo, who spent the previous season at Naturena on loan from CR Belouizdad, also made a permanent move to the club after impressing during his temporary spell.
The five new signings are therefore Moloisane, Leaner, Mayo, Bitegeko and Phili.
Chiefs have made a strong start to their 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign, opening the season with a 3-1 victory against Kruger United at Mbombela Stadium.
Their next assignment will be a MTN8 quarter-final against Golden Arrows this weekend, with Da Cruz now able to assess his expanded squad in competitive action.
The arrival of Phili adds another attacking option to the group and represents the latest step in Chiefs’ efforts to strengthen their squad before the season develops further.
Kaizer Chiefs will hope the changes made during the transfer window can help them build on their opening league victory and maintain momentum in both domestic competitions.
