Juventus have been monitoring AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori and RB Leipzig full-back Benjamin Raum for almost 10 months, with both players currently under contract until 30 June 2027, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The two cases are being viewed differently by the Italian club, although Juventus are understood to be keeping both players on their recruitment list.
Tomori has a strong relationship with Juventus scouting director Frederic Massara, who worked at AC Milan when the club won the Serie A title in 2022. Massara remains an admirer of the England defender and there was contact between the pair during the summer.
However, a realistic opportunity for Juventus to sign Tomori may not develop until closer to the end of his current agreement with AC Milan. There are currently no indications that Tomori and the club are set to restart negotiations over a contract extension.
That situation has encouraged Massara to continue monitoring the player rather than pursue an immediate move. With Tomori’s contract running until 2027, Juventus may have to wait for circumstances around his future to change before considering a formal approach.
Raum’s position at RB Leipzig is more sensitive because of his status within the squad. The Germany international is the club’s captain and a leading figure, meaning his future has been handled with caution.
RB Leipzig held discussions with Raum about a possible new contract in early summer, but those talks did not lead to an agreement. His existing deal remains in place until 30 June 2027.
Manchester United have also been monitoring Raum, while RB Leipzig previously valued the full-back at about 30 million euros. Juventus are expected to continue following developments and will look for an opportunity to make a move if the situation changes.
The two players therefore represent different types of targets for Juventus. Tomori is being watched with the possibility of a future opportunity, particularly given the absence of signs that he will extend his AC Milan contract. Raum, meanwhile, remains an important RB Leipzig player whose market situation is being followed by more than one club.
For now, Juventus have not taken either pursuit into an advanced stage. Their interest in both players remains part of their longer-term monitoring, with the contracts of Tomori and Raum giving AC Milan and RB Leipzig control over their immediate futures.
The report comes as Juventus continue to assess possible defensive reinforcements, while both Tomori and Raum remain tied to their current clubs for another season beyond the present campaign.
