Juventus midfielder Kenan Yıldız has undergone surgery on a fracture at the base of the fifth metatarsal in his left foot and could be out for between two and three months, according to reports from other sources.
The 20-year-old sustained the injury during Juventus’ Serie A match against Frosinone on the opening day of the season. The club confirmed that the procedure was carried out at a clinic in Germany by local specialists, with Juventus club doctor Marco Freschi also present.
Juventus have not given a specific timescale for Yıldız’s recovery. The club said his rehabilitation programme would begin shortly, but did not indicate when he might be able to return to training or competitive action.
Information published elsewhere suggests the Turkey international could be sidelined for approximately two to three months. That would represent a significant absence for Juventus, although the club has yet to set a definitive date for his return.
Yıldız’s injury came in the first Serie A fixture of the campaign against Frosinone. The match was the occasion on which the midfielder suffered the fracture that required surgery, with the club subsequently arranging treatment in Germany.
Juventus also provided an update on Jeff Ekhator, who has suffered a separate injury after moving from Genoa. Medical examinations found that Ekhator sustained a moderately serious injury to a muscle in his right thigh.
The injury occurred shortly after Ekhator’s transfer from Genoa. Juventus said the player would undergo further examinations before a final assessment of his condition is made.
He is expected to miss up to two months, although, as with Yıldız, the club has not announced a precise recovery schedule. The additional tests will help determine the extent of the injury and clarify when Ekhator can resume football activity.
The two cases leave Juventus awaiting further information on both players’ rehabilitation. Yıldız has already had the required operation, while Ekhator is due to have more tests on the muscle problem in his right thigh. Juventus have confirmed the nature of both injuries but have not provided exact return dates.
