Issa Diop, the Morocco and France centre-back currently at Fulham, is the subject of interest from Premier League rivals Ipswich Town as they explore defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season.
The 29-year-old, under contract at Craven Cottage until 30 June 2027, has been linked with a potential switch that would see him remain in the top flight but change clubs for the third time in his senior career. Diop’s current market valuation stands at around €8m, a figure that is likely to frame any negotiations between the clubs.
Diop joined Fulham from West Ham United in August 2022 for a fee of €17.8m and has since added significant Premier League experience to Marco Silva’s squad. Across his time in England’s top division, he has made 173 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing two assists.
The Toulouse-born defender is coming off an impressive summer on the international stage, having featured at the 2026 World Cup, where he played in five of Morocco’s six matches and scored once. That tournament exposure, coupled with his height of 1.94m and right-footed profile, adds to his appeal for clubs seeking an experienced, physically dominant option at the back.
Diop first rose to prominence in France with Toulouse, where he accumulated 85 Ligue 1 appearances before earning a move to West Ham in 2018. He was part of the France Under-19 side that won the European Championship in 2016, underlining his long-standing pedigree at a high level.
For now, Diop remains a Fulham player with a year left before the final season of his deal, and any move to Ipswich would require the London club to be satisfied both on price and on their ability to replace a defender with extensive Premier League minutes.
