Mali centre-back Ismaila Simpara has joined Tunisian club Club Africain from Stade Malien on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old has signed a contract running until 30 June 2028, completing the move on 14 August 2026. Simpara becomes part of a Club Africain squad competing in Ligue 1, with the defender bringing experience from clubs in Mali, Mauritania and Morocco.
Simpara, who is 1.87m tall and predominantly right-footed, spent the previous season with Stade Malien. He arrived at the Malian side from Mauritania’s ASC SNIM in October 2025, also on a free transfer, after leaving Moroccan club Moghreb Tetouan in July 2024.
His career includes continental experience in both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup. He has made 13 Champions League appearances and scored once, while also featuring in eight Confederation Cup matches. His record includes a further 12 appearances in Morocco’s Botola Pro Inwi and one appearance in the Moroccan domestic cup.
Simpara began his senior career with Generation Foot before joining Stade Malien on loan in August 2021. That temporary move ended in June 2022, when he returned to Generation Foot, before Stade Malien brought him back on a permanent basis in September of the same year.
The defender then spent the 2023-24 season with Stade Malien before moving to Moghreb Tetouan. His time in Morocco lasted one campaign, after which he switched to ASC SNIM ahead of his return to Stade Malien.
Club Africain have secured Simpara without a transfer fee, adding a Mali international defender with experience across several North and West African competitions. His contract places him at the Tunisian club through the end of June 2028.
Simpara’s move to Club Africain was completed on 14 August 2026.
