FC Metz have signed Comoros-French defender Idris Mohamed from Le Puy FC on a permanent transfer worth €300,000. The 22-year-old centre-back has agreed a contract with the Ligue 2 club until 30 June 2030.
Mohamed arrives in Metz after a standout spell with Le Puy in the French third tier, where he established himself as a regular starter. Standing at 1.96m and operating primarily as a right-footed central defender, he moves up a division as Metz look to strengthen their back line for the new campaign.
Born in Aix-en-Provence on 25 November 2003, Mohamed has developed steadily through the French system. Before joining Le Puy in 2025, he spent time with FC Rousset following a switch from Marignane GCB’s reserve side, having earlier progressed through the youth ranks at Istres and Marignane.
His performances in the lower divisions have been consistent, with close to 90 league appearances across the French fourth and fifth tiers, as well as experience in the Coupe de France. He also has a French fifth-tier title on his CV, underlining his role in a successful campaign at that level.
Mohamed’s market value is currently listed at €350,000, and his long-term deal reflects Metz’s commitment to integrating him into their defensive plans over the coming seasons. The move marks his first opportunity in Ligue 2 and completes his transfer from Le Puy FC to FC Metz.
