Ibrahima Mbaye agrees five-year Aston Villa contract in €55m move

Ibrahima Mbaye has signed a five-year contract with Aston Villa, with the agreement including an option for a further 12 months, according to RMC reporter Hawkins.

The transfer has been agreed for €55m, while Paris Saint-Germain will also receive a 10% sell-on clause as part of the deal. An official announcement confirming the move is expected soon.

Mbaye’s agreement with Aston Villa represents a five-year commitment, although the additional option means the contract could potentially run for six seasons. The financial terms of the transfer have been reported as €55m, with the sell-on provision giving Paris Saint-Germain the right to benefit from 10% of a future transfer fee if the relevant conditions are met.

The deal is also part of a significant period of transfer income for Paris Saint-Germain. The club’s total revenue from player sales has now exceeded €350m, setting a new record.

Bander-Mutairi played an important role in facilitating these transactions, although no further detail has been provided about the nature of that involvement.

The move remains subject to the expected formal confirmation from Aston Villa. Until the club announcement is made, the details have been reported by Hawkins of RMC.

The development comes with Paris Saint-Germain continuing to register record levels of transfer revenue. The club’s total has now passed the €350m mark, a new high for the club, with Mbaye’s €55m move to Aston Villa included among the transactions.

The agreement has been described as a five-year contract with a one-year extension option, commonly referred to as a five-plus-one arrangement. Alongside the initial transfer fee, the 10% sell-on clause forms part of the overall terms agreed between the clubs.

More information is expected when Aston Villa issue their official announcement.
