Senegalese centre-forward Ibou Faye has joined Belgian side KRC Mechelen on a free transfer from Swiss club BSC Old Boys. The 31-year-old has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027 with the 2de Nationale VV B outfit.
Faye, who was born in Dakar and stands at 1.92m, moves back to Belgium after previously featuring for RFC Seraing earlier in his career. He arrives as an experienced attacking option, comfortable leading the line as a central striker and preferring to operate on his right foot.
The forward completed his switch on 21 July 2026 after a short spell in Switzerland, which followed several seasons in the French lower divisions. Since leaving Generation Foot in Senegal, Faye has built a journeyman career across Europe, with stints at Leixoes B in Portugal, US Sarre-Union, SR Colmar, FR Haguenau, ASC Biesheim and US Forbach.
Faye has produced consistent scoring returns at several of those stops, including double-figure goal tallies in league campaigns in both France and Switzerland, and he has also found the net in domestic cup competitions. His record at this level underlines the profile KRC Mechelen have targeted for their attack.
KRC Mechelen compete in Belgium’s 2de Nationale VV B and Faye’s arrival strengthens their offensive options ahead of the new campaign. The move marks his latest permanent transfer in Europe and ties him to the Belgian club for the 2026-27 season.
