Al Hilal have launched a dramatic last-minute bid to snatch Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville from Roma’s grasp, as West Ham prepare to decide his future within hours.
Saudi giants move to derail Roma pursuit
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Al Hilal have submitted an offer to sign Summerville, the Netherlands international and West Ham United winger, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Romano said on X (formerly Twitter) that the Riyadh club had stepped in at a late stage, after Roma tabled three separate offers for the 24-year-old in an attempt to bring him to the Italian capital.
West Ham are now expected to make a swift decision over whether Summerville will move to Saudi Arabia or to Serie A, with the situation described as entering its decisive phase.
Breakthrough World Cup displays
Summerville’s profile has risen sharply following his performances at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Although he was not an automatic starter in every match for the Netherlands, he made a strong impact whenever called upon, scoring two goals and providing two assists during the tournament.
Those contributions ensured his name stood out among emerging talents at the finals, drawing the attention of major European clubs as well as ambitious sides in the Saudi Pro League.
