Fulham have opened “club to club” talks with Eintracht Frankfurt about signing midfielder Hugo Larsson, with the West London club considering a late-window move for the Sweden international.
The 22-year-old is on the radar of both Fulham and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, while Frankfurt are reportedly prepared to sell him for a fee between €25m and €30m.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Alvaro Arbeloa’s side have now begun discussions with the German club over a possible transfer. The talks are understood to be at club level, with no indication that an agreement has yet been reached.
Fulham are looking to strengthen their options in central midfield. Their current depth in that area is limited beyond first-choice options Alex Iwobi and Sander Berge, making Larsson a potential addition as they assess their choices late in the transfer window.
Larsson enjoyed a breakthrough 2024-25 campaign with Eintracht Frankfurt, appearing 47 times in all competitions. Operating primarily as a defensive midfielder, he contributed six goals and two assists during the season.
His form was less consistent the following season, however. Larsson started 21 of his 25 Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt, a reduction from his previous level of involvement.
Despite that dip, his performances have continued to attract interest in the Premier League. Fulham and Crystal Palace have both been identified as possible destinations, with Frankfurt’s asking price set at €25m-€30m.
Fulham’s interest reflects their desire to add further competition and cover in central midfield. Iwobi and Berge remain the principal options in that position, but the club are understood to be exploring the possibility of bringing in Larsson before the window closes.
The Sweden international’s ability to operate from defensive midfield, combined with his record of six goals and two assists in his standout campaign, has made him an attractive target.
For now, negotiations between Fulham and Eintracht Frankfurt remain ongoing. Any move would depend on the two clubs reaching agreement over a fee within Frankfurt’s reported valuation of the player.
