Francis Ngannou has congratulated Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses after they won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, describing their campaign as a display of courage, consistency and determination.
The Cameroonian side secured a second final appearance in 10 years and completed the achievement with a decisive victory over Malawi. Their success prompted messages of praise from prominent figures in the country, including Samuel Eto’o, president of the Federation Camerounaise de Football, and Ngannou.
Ngannou, the Cameroonian mixed martial artist and professional boxer, shared his reaction through his official social media accounts.
“Championnes d’Afrique. Felicitations a nos incroyables Lionnes Indomptables ! Quel tournoi du debut a la fin ! Des performances exceptionnelles, du courage, de la constance et de la determination tout au long de la competition”, he wrote.
His message celebrated not only the trophy but also the performances that carried Cameroon through the tournament. Ngannou said the players had earned their success at every stage of the competition.
“Vous n’avez pas seulement remporte le trophee, vous l’avez merite a chaque etape ! Le Cameroun est fier de vous !”, he added.
The praise came after Cameroon’s emphatic victory over Malawi in the final, bringing the country’s latest campaign to a successful conclusion. The Indomitable Lionesses had reached the decisive match for the second time in a decade before completing the tournament with a commanding result.
Ngannou’s comments followed those of Eto’o, who had also publicly acknowledged the national team’s achievement. The two messages underline the pride surrounding the Cameroon side after its success in the women’s continental competition.
