Fares Ghedjemis has been left out of Frosinone’s squad after the Algerian footballer made clear he does not want to continue playing for the Italian club.
The 22-year-old was omitted from the team for Frosinone’s most recent league match, in which the club produced a major surprise by winning heavily away at Fiorentina.
According to Italian website derbyderbyderby.it, Frosinone’s management believes Ghedjemis became too focused on the transfer market. The club reportedly decided to punish him by leaving him at home rather than selecting him for the match.
That decision appears to have strengthened Ghedjemis’ determination to leave Frosinone. The situation has therefore developed into a dispute between the player and the club at a time when interest in his services is emerging from elsewhere.
Among the clubs reportedly monitoring the Algerian are French side Monaco and Istanbul-based Besiktas.
Ghedjemis’ absence was particularly notable because it came before a result that attracted considerable attention. Frosinone recorded a convincing away victory against Fiorentina, but the player was not involved after being excluded by the club’s management.
The report does not provide further details about the nature of Ghedjemis’ activity in the transfer market or whether Frosinone would consider allowing him to leave. It does, however, indicate that the player’s relationship with the club has become increasingly strained.
