Everton are in active negotiations to bring Jack Grealish back to the club from Manchester City, with a deal for the 30-year-old midfielder potentially being completed at the beginning of next week.
Grealish is not currently part of Manchester City’s plans, and his contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027. Everton are now discussing a possible transfer for the England midfielder, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano reported the development on social media, saying discussions between Everton and Manchester City are progressing. If the negotiations continue according to plan, Grealish could complete a return to the Merseyside club early in the new week.
The proposed move would see Grealish rejoin Everton after spending last season with the club on loan. During that spell, he made 20 Premier League appearances for the Toffees, scoring two goals and providing six assists.
His return would therefore follow a campaign in which he made a significant contribution to Everton’s attacking output. Across his 20 league matches, Grealish was directly involved in eight goals, although the available information does not include details of the proposed transfer fee or the length of any new agreement.
The midfielder’s current Manchester City contract is due to expire in the summer of 2027, but Everton’s negotiations centre on arranging his departure before that date. The two clubs are continuing to work on the potential transfer, with the beginning of next week identified as a possible point for the deal to be formalised.
For Everton, the talks represent an opportunity to bring back a player who already spent the previous season at the club and contributed goals and assists in the Premier League. For Grealish, the discussions concern a possible return after Manchester City indicated that he is not being relied upon.
