The Egyptian Football Association has reaffirmed its full support for FIFA president Gianni Infantino, praising his leadership and commitment to developing football around the world.
In a statement, the Egyptian federation said it remained confident in Infantino’s vision and backed his continued efforts to expand the global reach of the game.
The declaration comes as football authorities from across the Arab world expressed support for the FIFA president and his approach to the development of the sport.
The statement was signed by football leaders representing several Arab countries, including Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Lebanon and Sudan.
The federation said: “We, the leaders who have signed this statement, reaffirm our full support for Mr. Gianni Infantino, FIFA President, and renew our confidence in his leadership and continued commitment to the development of football worldwide.”
The statement highlighted several areas in which the football authorities believe Infantino has made a contribution.
Among them are efforts to increase opportunities for people to play football, support the development of the sport in different regions and strengthen football’s ability to bring people and communities together.
The Egyptian Football Association said it appreciated the FIFA president’s continued work to advance the game internationally.
The federation also expressed its desire to maintain a close relationship with Infantino as it seeks to contribute to the future development of football.

The backing was supported by a group of football officials with positions within FIFA and Arab football organisations.
Egypt was represented by Hani Abu Rida, who is a member of the FIFA Council and vice-president of the Arab Football Federation. The statement also listed him as president of the Gulf Football Federation and president of the Qatar Football Association.
Morocco’s Fawzi Lekjaa was also among those named. He is a member of the FIFA Council and a member of the Arab Football Federation Council, as well as president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
Mauritania was represented by Ahmed Yahya, a member of the FIFA Council and the Arab Football Federation Council.
Hassam Hedar of Lebanon was also listed as a member of the FIFA Council.
Sudan’s Hamad Yahia was included as another FIFA Council member.
The statement therefore brought together football officials from several Arab countries in support of Infantino.
The Egyptian federation’s message was not limited to its confidence in the FIFA president personally. It also endorsed the broader objective of developing football across different parts of the world and expanding access to the sport.
The federation said increasing opportunities to play and supporting football’s growth in different regions were important elements of the game’s future.
