Ghanaian centre-forward Mohammed Fuseini has joined Derby from Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise on loan, giving the Championship side a new attacking option for the 2026-27 season.
The 24-year-old completed the move on 1 September 2026 after beginning the campaign with Union SG. He had made two appearances in the Jupiler Pro League, providing one assist, and also featured in the Champions League qualifying rounds, scoring once in two matches.
Fuseini also played in Union SG’s Belgian Super Cup victory this season, registering an assist in the match. His arrival at Derby follows a period of success in Belgium, where he helped Union SG win the Belgian title in 2024-25, the Belgian Cup in 2026 and the Belgian Super Cup in 2026.
The Accra-born forward joined Union SG from Austrian side Sturm Graz in July 2024 in a €2m transfer. During his time in Austria, he won the Austrian Bundesliga and Austrian Cup with Sturm Graz in the 2023-24 season, having also lifted the Austrian Cup in 2022-23.
Fuseini began his senior career with Sturm Graz II after moving from Ghanaian club Right to Dream in February 2022. He subsequently moved into Sturm Graz’s first team before spending part of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Danish club Randers FC.
A right-footed striker standing 1.69m tall, Fuseini now moves into English football with Derby. The club’s Championship statistics for the 2026-27 season show no appearance for him before the transfer, while his most recent competitive action came in Belgium and in Champions League qualifying.
His previous campaign at Union SG ended with another major honour, as the club secured the Belgian Cup in 2026. Fuseini’s collection of domestic titles also includes a Belgian championship and an Austrian championship, alongside his two Austrian Cup successes and a regional league title won with Sturm Graz II in 2021-22.
The loan agreement includes a return to Union SG at the end of the scheduled spell. Fuseini’s contract is set to run until 30 June 2027, completing his move to Derby for the Championship season.
