Crystal Palace revive interest in Aston Villa winger Evann Guessand

Crystal Palace have renewed their interest in Aston Villa winger Evann Guessand and are considering making a fresh loan move for the Ivory Coast international before the end of the summer transfer window.

According to The Athletic, Palace have recently re-established contact with Guessand’s representatives after initially deciding not to complete a permanent move for the 25-year-old this summer. The Eagles are now exploring whether the forward could return to the club on another loan deal.

Guessand remains under contract with Aston Villa until 30 June 2030, but his future at Villa Park is uncertain despite his return to the club for pre-season. Hull City, who have recently been promoted to the Premier League, have also reportedly placed the forward on their shortlist, according to exclusive information from Africafoot.

Palace’s renewed interest means several clubs are now monitoring the situation. The London club continue to value Guessand’s ability to operate on the right wing and want to examine the terms of a possible temporary transfer.

Guessand joined Aston Villa from OGC Nice in the summer of 2025. After making his first appearances for the Villans, he moved to Crystal Palace on loan in January 2026. That agreement included an option for Palace to buy him permanently, but the club ultimately chose not to activate it.

As a result, Guessand returned to Aston Villa ahead of the new season. However, Palace’s interest in bringing him back has not disappeared, and discussions between the clubs and the player’s representatives could now increase as the transfer deadline approaches.

Transfermarkt values Guessand at €25m. He earns an annual salary of €2,249,654 at Aston Villa, equivalent to 1,462,275,100 FCFA.

Any deal would need to be resolved quickly, with Crystal Palace preparing for their opening Premier League fixture against Everton. The match is scheduled to be the club’s first league game of the English season.

Betting company 1xbet lists Crystal Palace at 3.25 to win, with the draw also priced at 3.25. Everton are listed at 1.99. 1xbet also provides an option to download its betting application.

For now, Guessand remains an Aston Villa player, but Palace’s decision to reopen talks has put his next move back under scrutiny. A second spell with the Eagles is now a possibility, while Hull City and other interested clubs continue to follow developments.
