CAF opens media accreditation for U-17 AFCON Morocco 2026

Confédération Africaine de Football has officially opened the media accreditation process for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF U-17 AFCON.

The tournament is set to take place from May 13 to June 2, 2026 in Morocco.

Media representatives interested in covering the tournament can submit their applications between April 8 and April 22, 2026, through CAF’s official Media Channel.

CAF has made it clear that accreditation is mandatory for all journalists, photographers and media personnel seeking access to stadiums, training grounds and official events throughout the competition.

The governing body also emphasized that applications will not be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, all submissions will be carefully reviewed using established criteria aimed at ensuring balanced, diverse and professional media coverage of the tournament.

With the competition expected to attract continental and global attention, CAF has urged media professionals to complete their applications promptly to avoid last-minute complications and to help streamline the accreditation process.

Further details regarding media operations, logistics and access to facilities are expected to be communicated in the coming weeks as preparations for the youth tournament continue.

The U-17 AFCON serves as a key platform for showcasing Africa’s emerging football talent, with scouts and stakeholders closely monitoring the next generation of stars set to compete in Morocco.

The tournament will feature 16 teams, with the eight quarter-finalists qualifying automatically for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, while two additional places will be decided through play-off matches involving the four teams that finish third in their groups.
