Bundesliga trio track Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu

Turkish side Trabzonspor are resisting growing transfer interest in striker Paul Onuachu, despite approaches from several European clubs and reported links from Saudi Arabia.

Teams in Germany’s top flight, including Bayer Leverkusen, VfL Wolfsburg, and Werder Bremen, are said to be monitoring the Nigeria international following his prolific form this season.

Onuachu has been a central figure in Trabzonspor’s campaign, playing a key role in their push for a place in European competition. The 31-year-old currently leads the Turkish top-flight scoring charts, having registered 21 goals in 24 appearances.

His performances have not gone unnoticed beyond Europe, with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli also reportedly expressing interest in securing his services.

Despite the mounting attention, Trabzonspor are understood to be unwilling to part ways with their leading striker. The club are determined to retain Onuachu and are not prepared to sanction a transfer under any circumstances, underlining his importance to their ambitions.

Onuachu joined Trabzonspor last summer from English side Southampton, having previously made a name for himself at Danish club FC Midtjylland. Since arriving in Turkey, he has quickly established himself as one of the league’s most effective forwards.

The striker’s current market value is estimated to be around €15m, reflecting both his experience and his impressive goal-scoring record this season. However, Trabzonspor’s firm stance suggests that any potential suitors may find it difficult to negotiate a deal, regardless of financial incentives.

Onuachu’s consistency in front of goal has been a driving force behind Trabzonspor’s strong domestic performances, and his contributions have significantly boosted their hopes of securing continental football next season.

With interest continuing to build as the campaign progresses, attention will remain on whether clubs return with formal offers during the next transfer window. For now, Trabzonspor appear resolute in their decision to keep hold of their prized asset as they pursue their objectives both domestically and in Europe.
