Stade Brestois have completed the signing of 23-year-old Mali international Mamady Diambou from Red Bull Salzburg, adding a new midfield option to their squad. The move was first revealed exclusively by Africafoot.
Diambou has agreed a contract with Brest until June 2028 after deciding to continue his development in France. The midfielder spent several seasons with the Austrian club, where he worked in a demanding football environment and gained experience of European-level competition.
Brest believe that background can now benefit their team as Diambou begins the next stage of his career in Ligue 1. The Mali international will be aiming to establish himself quickly and demonstrate the qualities that persuaded the Breton club to make him part of their plans.
His arrival provides the Brest coaching staff with another alternative in central midfield. Diambou’s move also represents an opportunity for the player to take a further step forward after his time with Red Bull Salzburg, where he developed in a competitive setting and was exposed to a high level of the game.
