Burkina Faso winger Blaise Yameogo has joined Romanian side Pausesti Otasau after a period without a club. The 32-year-old left-sided attacker arrives as a free agent, strengthening the club’s options on the flank ahead of the new campaign.
Yameogo, who is primarily a left winger but plays off his right foot, has spent much of his professional career in Romanian football and in eastern Europe. He was most recently on the books of Alexandria, leaving the club in summer 2024 before becoming unattached.
The move to Pausesti Otasau marks a return to Romania for the Burkina Faso international, who previously featured in the country’s top flight with Chindia Targoviste. During his time there he made 39 appearances in the SuperLiga, gaining experience at the highest domestic level and contributing across league and relegation phase fixtures.
After departing Chindia in 2021, Yameogo had further spells in Romania with CSC Selimbar and Gloria Bistrita, playing in Liga 2 and its play-off and play-out rounds, as well as appearing in the Romanian Cup. Across his various Romanian clubs he has taken part in more than 90 competitive matches, including top-flight, second-tier and play-off competitions.
Yameogo began his professional journey in Burkina Faso with RC Kadiogo and EF Ouagadougou before earning a move to Moldovan side Zimbru Chisinau, where he gained his first experience in European club football. Standing at 1.81m, he brings height and versatility across the attacking line.
The 32-year-old now starts a new chapter with Pausesti Otasau, having completed a free transfer to the Romanian club.
